My name is Kamaldeep Kaur. I was born and raised in India and moved to my new home, Canada, in search of enriching my artistic practice and expanding my creative horizons through the exploration of diverse cultures.

My artistic journey began with a childhood dream of being immersed in the art world. However, in my early career, I didn't pursue art but instead studied actuarial science and followed a predefined path to life. My desire to become an artist remained, but it was overshadowed. Thankfully, fate intervened when I got lucky and encountered an established artist who took me under his wing. Balancing this newfound passion with my day-to-day job, I embarked on my artistic journey (finally). After a short time, I quit my day job and pursued a career as a full-time artist, and I haven’t looked back since.
Over time, I have traversed a considerable distance, moving from simply reproducing photographs to creating conceptual art.
I displayed my works in TOAF, the Artist Project and the Art Gallery of Mississauga in Canada, apart from that I have exhibited in around 25 art exhibitions.

THE STORY:

Over time, I have developed my series  "Illusion of Time."
This series is the general realization of a common person, just like me watching a sci-fi movie and realizing WHAT IF I could travel to different time zones and change my past actions for the better. It sounds absurd, but if it makes sense, then life will be so easy. My character, who initially had no face but gradually started showing up. She travelled back to her old past, telling others that she is not weird but unique, she has her own identity and her own way of looking at life. She travelled to meet her old lover; her journey also included going to mythological stories like Samundramanthan.

However, as the protagonist becomes increasingly entangled in this odyssey, the boundaries between reality and fantasy blur. She endeavours to bring loved ones from her past time zone into the present. Exploring the dichotomy between reality and fantasy is an intriguing endeavour, albeit one that confounds our comprehension. Yet there is a certain allure to immersing oneself in both realms. Despite her yearning to transcend the materialistic world, she finds herself trapped within its glittering facade.
