THE STORY:
My paintings blend traditional figurative realism with abstraction, weaving together fragmented figures with organic forms and textures.
Featuring contemporary, solitary figures that are both interrupted and assembled by natural patterns, my work invites meditation on the disconnection and distraction inherent in contemporary life, and the grounding effect of nature. By combining classical painting techniques and materials with fluid abstract elements, I am to create emotionally direct images centred on my subjects, their expressions and poses, and sense of place.
