Tim Alblas is a Visual Artist and Graphic Designer living in St.Catharines, Ontario (Formally Hamilton). Predominately a self taught artist, his works are done in a variety of mixed media that range from paintings to collage, murals and most recently sculpture and public art. In contrast to his digitally based work as a full-time designer, in his art he makes an effort to work in an analog setting with traditional mediums and let things get a bit messy. His process takes shape by letting the focus be about the journey of creative exploration and experimentation as it relates with colour, texture and subject matter.
THE STORY:
This piece is quite simply a picture of a lawn chair in my backyard in Hamilton that for me was a place to relax, meditate and connect with the outdoors.
