Collection: Mentorship
You turn your ideas into paintings, drawings, photos, sculptures, or films.
But lately, you've been stuck. You've hit a plateau.
You'd kill for more traction.
More gallery recognition, exhibitions, and most of all, sales.
You want to take your art-making and make it into an art-living (one that pays you to create).
I see you. I am you. Just further along.
I'm Tania LaCaria.
I'm a full-time artist, one successful enough to make a living with my art.
But it wasn't always this way for me. I had stopped believing I could be an artist.
I took a 16-year hiatus from making art. I did what was more practical: designing luxury homes, launching e-commerce stores, writing for magazines, and even speaking to people about how to be creative.
And while creativity has always been a part of my life, I wasn't working as an Artist.
Until now.
A few years ago, my entire life exploded. At the time, this felt disastrous, even devastating.
But I saw an opportunity to start over. And I took it.
I returned to my roots as an artist. And I'm the happiest I've ever been.
But it took a lot of effort to get here.
Impossibly long days (and nights). I made many mistakes and (many times) felt like I'd never make it.
I'm still working on it.
The truth is, there is nothing "easy" about the world of art.
It takes grit, dedication, and tenacity. It takes self-discipline, a plan, and unwavering persistence.
And it takes knowing what not to do as much as what you must do.
You string together some successes. You build a little momentum.
Before you know it, things are happening.
For me, this process took three years. And more than a few tears.
I don't want that for you. I want to help you go faster (with much less stress).
I want you to live your version of the artist's life as quickly as possible.
So here is what I want to offer you:
M one-on-one coaching sessions are based around the two questions I get asked most:
1) How did you go from a hobbyist painter to a full-time artist? This is the most loaded question, and the simple answer is I focused on figuring out my style, developing my voice, and dedicating myself to my creative process. I discovered who I wanted to be an artist. Now, I explore themes that matter to me. I learned how to be more discerning in the opportunities that come my way and I've stepped into the role of artist, and never looked back.
2)
How did you leverage your social media as an artist? The social media experts talk about the importance of consistency, and there's some truth to that, but posting on socials just for the sake of it doesn't work. I built an engaging audience that's actually excited to hear what I have to say. I can tell you how I did it for myself, or, I can show you how to do this for yourself through this program.
Reasons you should work with me
I'll guide you through the moments of self-doubt. I'll help position your work through a professional lens. I'll remind you that it may not be easy, but it can be pretty simple.
I'll challenge you to do better. I'll push you to be honest with yourself. And I'll cheer you on during your triumphs.
I will be oh-so-very-real with you.
I went through all of this on my own, so that you don't have to.
I can't wait for us to work together.
