How To Develop Your Voice
Learn how to identify your style, express yourself authentically, talk about your art.
You know the kind of art you want to create. You know what excites you...but your art spans all kinds of topics and you can’t make the connection between common themes because you’re in too deep.
Sound familiar? Is this you?
Or... you know what your work is about; you know your "why" ... but you haven't figured out how to put it all into words that do your work justice (you're the do-er, the maker...not the writer...I get it).
Take a deep breath, I've been there, and now, I got you.
All you need is a little nudge to get you closer to understanding what your top values are as an Artist so you can make art that sets your soul on fire…and then you need to learn how to speak about your work effectively so people can understand you and the beautiful way your Artist brain works.
I'm here to help.
Having a strong Artist Statement and knowing how to talk about your art will allow you to apply for grants more easily and successfully nail those media interviews with confidence. Underestimating the importance of an Artist Statement and project summary is where most artists fumble the ball. If you want people to see and understand you and your work, you have to talk about it in a way that others can understand.
Together we can:
- Work on editing/revising your existing Artist Statement, or,
- Come up with an Artist Statement if you're missing one.
- Address important topics/themes to focus on.
- Identify what matters most to you and find simple terms to communicate this to others.
Like I've said before - it won't be easy, but it is pretty simple. I'll help you get there in two session split up over 150 minutes.
I didn’t earn the title ChatGPTania for nothing (...don't believe me? I have testimonials). I have a feeling that your work is meaningful and important - the world needs your art - and once other people understand what you're trying to say, they'll see this, too!
