Inspired by camping in Ontario in the summer, this panel was an exploration of color, texture and painting techniques using different tools. A combination of small brushstrokes and sweeping larger strokes are reminiscent of the coniferous tree coverage at a campsite, the colors are evocative of a campsite at dusk, with the sunlight reflecting on the water. The perfect scenery to end a beautiful day outdoors in the wilderness. There's nothing like being outside in Ontario in the summertime, and this study was all about exploring that feeling that only Ontarians really know.

This panel was created without the intention of subject matter, in fact, the goal was simply to experiment and play with different shapes, markings, colours and composition and the overall feeling that the painting can convey.
