12" x 12"
acrylic on wood panel

This panel painting reminds me of Emerald City from the Wizard of Oz.  It wasn't painted that way, it just kind of became evocative of the feeling I used to get when Dorothy arrived at the big doors in search of the Wizard. I remember watching as a young girl, scared of the wicked witch (I had to close my eyes when she came on screen!) but always excited to see that moment when Dorothy finally arrives at the place she was trying to reach for so long. This panel reminds me of that moment. The potential and excitement of what is behind the door of the place you wanted so badly to reach.

More about this product:

A study is a loose and fun exploration usually of a concept or subject matter, but in this case, the only exploration was a limited colour palette of only 2 colours as well as black and white. This panel was created without the intention of subject matter, in fact, the goal was simply to experiment and play with different shapes, markings, colours and composition. A wood panel of this size is very lightweight, only ¼" thick, and can be easily displayed by leaning on a surface, or mounted inside a floating frame for a more polished look. This product is easy to ship thanks to the small size. Please note that the buyer is responsible for any shipping charges, but the artist will facilitate the process by obtaining quotes, packaging the product safely, and bringing it to a shipping centre at no extra cost. Reach out to the artist directly through the Contact page for any inquiries regarding this piece.
