Frida-Fig was created as part of the MiniFig challenge for Winterfest 2025. A pre-fabricated plaster mould of the mini fig form was provided to 50 artists as a base for this sculpture challenge.
As an homage to Mexico - where Tania spent the first quarter of 2025 on a self-directed artist residency - Tania felt compelled to create a mini fig in the likeness of one of her favorite artists. Frida Kahlo's surrealism and heart-led approach to art continues to inspire Tania in new ways, years after having been introduced to Kahlo's artistic career when Tania was in high school.
