2024

LifeLine was created for the 2024 CIBC Run For The Cure Milestones project in Toronto. This sculpture features 87 real, retro telephones from all over Ontario, that have been carefully converted into pink beacons of hope in celebration of the Canadian Cancer Society’s 32 year anniversary in support of breast cancer.

This piece, called LifeLine, commemorates the 3rd Milestone achievement of the Canadian Cancer Society: the establishment of a National Support System that involved the creation of a hotline (as well as providing wigs and other resources) to help bring hope and inspiration to survivors and folks battling breast cancer.

LifeLine serves as a reminder of the importance of community and having a support system especially during challenging times.

The LIFELINE sculpture was originally on public display along The Bentway in Toronto with four other sculptures in the CIBC Milestones exhibition. It was transported to the Winston Churchill Park on the day-of the much-anticipated and celebrated CIBC Run For The Cure on October 6th 2024.

Many thanks to CIBC for sponsoring this piece and for the opportunity to bring more awareness to the challenges that folks with breast cancer face.
