Pivot. Change directions. Make an about face if what you’re moving towards is not what you want for yourself and your life.
To change directions you must first come to the potentially painful realization that the path you are following is not right for you; not in alignment with what is meant for you. And that can be terrifying to come to terms with. To face the truth that the path you are on is leading you farther away from where you want to be, instead of closer to your dreams and goals, can be heartbreaking. It can cause you to feel as if you let yourself down by veering off the path that was meant for you. It can feel like you made a mistake. You might be hard on yourself for getting distracted, for having lost perspective, for feeling like you had “wasted time” pushing your life in the wrong direction. But that’s not true at all. What if the path you were on - the one that you felt led you away from your life’s truth, beauty and goals - was actually part of the path that you were supposed to take all along? Without noticing that your life had gotten away from you, maybe you wouldn’t have been able to find the strength to truly recognize what you want? There are no wrong paths, no wrong directions, there are only opportunities to make changes, to pivot, when things start to feel off-course.
This painting is about taking charge of your life. If you don’t like the direction you’re headed in, pivot. Turn around. Take one step at a time, then take leaps and strides onwards! Get back to yourself and your dreams by moving towards the things and people in your life that light your soul on fire and bring you joy in ways that you only dreamed about. You deserve that joy, it is available to you! You are in charge of your own life, it is up to you to pivot when you need to. You are allowed to make that decision for yourself. Recognize when it’s time to pivot and do it proudly.
