14" x 20"
acrylic and ink on canvas, stretched on rustic homemade frame
Everyone wants to be seen for who they are - that is, as adults, because really, most kids spend their time trying to fit in with their peers, which usually looks like dressing alike and having the same interests as each another! But once young adulthood strikes, the idea of standing out starts to appeal, perhaps because confidence has had time to develop, and we realize we're not so bad after all! In fact, being just the same as everyone else is no fun.
This painting is about being true to yourself, having the courage to be a bright, bold vermillion streak in a crowd of beige, and although this painting is a visual representation of that concept, to me, the real way to stand out in a crowd is to be true to yourself, to be kind and loving to others. Stand out by making others feel seen. You will always be the one who is seen for being you, when you help others feel seen for being themselves.
More about this product:
This painting was hand-stretched by the artist in her studio on rustic, homemade stretcher bars - an experiment of sorts that turned out well enough. This small canvas is incredibly light-weight and can be easily displayed by leaning on a surface, or mounted inside a floating frame for a more polished look. This product is easy to ship thanks to the small size. Please note that the buyer is responsible for any shipping charges, but the artist will facilitate the process by obtaining quotes, packaging the product safely, and bringing it to a shipping centre at no extra cost.
