Venus de Hot Dog is a playful piece rooted in satire originally created for Hamilton's Hot Diggity Dog art show curated by Professor Paints.
In this painting, Venus is standing on a classic hot dog and instead of appearing delicately placed on a shell for the benefit of the male gaze (as seen in Botticelli's original The Birth of Venus), she's stepped into her power as a woman whose purpose is to live her own silly, messy life (seen in her mustard-covered fingers) on her own terms, regardless of how absurd onlookers find her to be.
More info about this product:
This painting isn't technically a commission, though it was created just for a hot dog themed group art show in Hamilton - but it also doesn't fit into any other category on my website so here it shall remain. Venus de Hot Dog was acquired by a good friend and collector - it lives with other Tania LaCaria originals in a happy home. In general...commissions are created specifically for each client: dimensions are agreed on between client and artist; and each original painting is the result of a private interview and conversation between the client and artist.
For more information about commissions, use the Contact page to reach out to the artist directly.
*This is an original painting by Tania LaCaria, there is only one in the world.
