12" x 12"
acrylic on birch wood panel

There's nothing better than eating cold, fresh watermelon in the summer. The color of the watermelon flesh contrasting with the white and green rind is a stunning colour combination that I have always loved. Eating watermelon in the summertime reminds me of my childhood, when my father would cut watermelon wedges into tall, thin pieces, perfect for my little hands to hold. This study was a fun exercise is remembering what it's like to eat watermelon in the summertime of my childhood.

More about this product:

A study is a loose and fun exploration usually of a concept or subject matter. This was created with the intention of looking like nothing in particular, in fact, the goal was simply to experiment and play with different shapes, markings, colours and composition. A birch wood panel of this size is very light weight, only ¼" thick, and can be easily displayed by leaning on a surface, or mounted inside a floating frame for a more polished look. This product is easy to ship thanks to the small size. Please note that the buyer is responsible for any shipping charges, but the artist will facilitate the process by obtaining quotes, packaging the product safely, and bringing it to a shipping centre at no extra cost. Please note that this painting does not come with a frame. Reach out to the artist directly through the Contact page for any inquiries regarding this piece.

*This is an original painting by Tania LaCaria, there is only one in the world.
